HDPE pipes
Black HDPE poly pipe from 16 to 400 mm, rated up to 25 bar, for water, mining, irrigation and industrial lines across Zambia.
- Sizes
- 16–400 mm
- Pressure
- PN 4 to PN 25
- Material
- PE 100, also PE 80 and PE 63
- Design life
- 50 years minimum
- Supply
- Coils and straight lengths
About this pipe
Our HDPE pipe is made from 100% virgin PE material in an ISO 9001 controlled plant and complies with SANS 4427. Regression testing to ISO 9080 gives a minimum design life of 50 years.
Black HDPE is UV-protected for exposed runs, and food-grade safe for drinking water. Smaller sizes come in coils, which means fewer joints and faster laying over long distances.
Why specify it
- Food-grade safe for drinking water
- Highly resistant to corrosion and chemicals
- UV-protected black compound
- Flexible, so it follows ground contours with fewer fittings
- Butt-fusion and compression jointing

- Pressure ratings are for PE 100 (8 MPa hydrostatic design stress). The same SDR in PE 80 rates lower: SDR 41 is PN 3.2 and SDR 33 is PN 4.
- Wall thickness is shown as the minimum; the maximum and mean inside diameter are listed alongside.
- 16 mm sizes below PN 12.5 are outside the SABS specification.
